Since retiring from football, Corey’s business focus is inevitably his true passion – sport. Corey’s passion for AFL saw his first great success. Corey took ownership the Grand Final Eve Luncheon and in little time Corey grew it from an attendance of 120 guests to well over 1000 with the biggest names in Australian Rules attending each year including Wayne Carey, Leigh Matthews, Mick Malthouse, Billy Brownless and Dermott Brereton.
Corey also has an avid passion for both the Golf and NFL. He has spent the last eight years tirelessly working, building relationships and realising business opportunities that have raised the profile of each of the three sports across Australasia and America.
Corey’s passion for the NFL is seeing him lead the way raising the profile of NFL in Australia. Corey has created the country’s foremost Super Bowl party, The Ultimate Aussie Bowl Party. This year saw guest numbers grow to 1200, with attendees including names such as Sav Rocca, Mat McBriar and Terrell Owens. In 2015, the day prior to the Superbowl, Corey held the inaugural Charity Celebrity NFL Game that featured Nick Maxwell, Wayne Carey, Jonathan Brown and Terrell Owens. The game attracted huge media interest and is a much anticipated day for NFL fans already for this coming year. Corey also has his own NFL podcast which gets more than 4,000 people tuning in eagerly each week.
Corey’s love for Golf has seen his Annual Golf Day, The Melbourne Golf Invitational, become the richest one day event in Australia that draws the biggest names in golf sports and entertainment including John Daly, Viv Richards, Sir Ian Botham, Marc Leishman, James Brayshaw and Wendall Sailor.
For the past 8 years, Corey has also run VIP Golf tours for Australian’s to the US. Taking his guests to Pebble Beach and the U.S. Masters, Corey provides a “money can’t buy” experience through the relationships he has built with Jason Day, Marc Leishman and John Daly.
Corey is passionate about promoting and developing Australian Rules Football in the United States. Corey spends many months of the year in the U.S. and his company CM Ultimate Events has been a sponsor and keen supporter of the American Australian Rules Football Club, the LA Dragons. Head Coach, John Fragomeni recently said “Having a resource like Corey with his knowledge and experience is invaluable to the players. It’s an asset to the USAFL and privilege for the LA Dragons to have someone of Corey’s calibre involved in footy stateside”.
Corey intends to play three matches for the LA dragons in order to qualify for the 2015 USAFL National Championships. This will be Corey’s much anticipated first competitive hit out since retiring from the AFL.
